SEED Materials / Application guide

CLC / Project enquiry / Pakistan

Lightweight screed.
Start with the build-up.

CLC screed, foam-concrete screed and lightweight fill searches can describe different jobs. Explain whether you need floor levels, a roof build-up or a defined void filled.

01 / Define the application

Describe the layer and what surrounds it.

SEED Materials accepts project-specific lightweight fill and screed enquiries within its CLC discussion. Feasibility, the actual material, any site-mixing or placing scope and the supply route must be confirmed. Historical CLC plant experience does not prove current on-site screed capability.

Floor build-ups

Show the supporting slab, existing and finished levels, changes in depth, services and intended finish. State whether a separate topping or other layer has already been specified.

Roof fills and falls

Show the roof geometry, drainage outlets, required falls, waterproofing arrangement and access. Ask the project team to assess the complete roof assembly.

Defined voids

Provide the boundaries, depth, estimated volume and any buried services. Identify inspection access and the acceptance requirements before a material is proposed.

02 / Keep the roles clear

A fill is not a complete floor or roof system.

Do not assume a proposed foam-concrete layer is a final wearing surface, a structural slab or a waterproofing membrane. Any topping, finish, membrane or protection layer must be selected and detailed as part of the project build-up.

If the brief concerns roof insulation, state the required assembly performance and ask for evidence. No thermal value or energy-saving claim is offered here. Likewise, no density, thickness, strength, drying period or readiness for tiling is prescribed by this guide.

The responsible engineer must establish acceptable loads and suitability for the supporting structure. Material selection and the order of work must be agreed with the relevant designers and finishing or waterproofing specialists.

03 / Enquiry checklist

Make the site conditions visible.

  • Project location in Pakistan, programme and whether the work is new construction or refurbishment.
  • Area, drawings or sketches, level survey and minimum/maximum build-up depths if known.
  • Substrate condition, access restrictions, placing distance and available working area.
  • Project load limits and the material properties the designer needs verified.
  • Finishes, waterproofing interfaces, penetrations and drainage details.
  • Proposed quality checks, sampling, curing/protection arrangements and handover criteria to agree.

Unknown information can remain unknown in the first message. The discussion should identify what needs surveying or designing before pricing and execution.

Agree the scope before comparing prices.

Clarify who supplies and places the material, prepares the substrate, establishes levels, protects completed work and provides testing. A rate without the depth, volume, access, finish and acceptance basis is not a complete quotation.

Current availability, equipment, site services and execution timing require confirmation. No fixed price, standard thickness, structural suitability or installation outcome is promised here.

Explore lightweight-concrete terminology or CLC blocks for wall enquiries. For a roof waterproofing discussion, the SEED Chemicals team is a separate materials route; no combined system is implied.
